| This study aimed to quantify and compare water balance components over the course of a year for different Pinus taeda planting densities in an oxisol in southern Brazil. This experiment was conducted on 6-year-old trees in a clay oxisol at the Monte Alegre Farm, a property of the Klabin Company. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replicates and five treatments with different amounts of soil coverage: T100 (100% coverage - standard planting coverage); (T75, 75; T50, 50; and T25, 25%), and; T0 (without cover - clearcutting). | ABSTRACT The aim with this study was to evaluate the effects of single- and twin-row spatial arrangements associated with different doses of fertilization on soybean yield and its components. The experiment was carried out at Federal University of Goiás, Campus of Jataí, in a split-plot randomized block design with 10 treatments and four replicates. Each plot corresponded to a dose of P and K fertilization (0, 50, 100, 200 and 400% of the recommended dose) and the subplots to two types of spatial arrangements: single and twin rows. | Abstract The densification of orchards has become a viable alternative for producers seeking a greater use of current area, as well as greater profitability. In this sense, the spacing and training system to be used in the peach tree planting are extremely important to facilitate orchard management and, above all, to maximize tree yield. | A nova cultivar Embrapa 42 (Triticum aestivum L.) foi desenvolvida pela Embrapa Cerrados, Planaltina-DF e Embrapa Trigo, Passo Fundo-RS. Originou-se do cruzamento entre as linhagens LAP 689 (Arthur Type*2/7 Cerros//Ter/Bulgaria 88/3/Ciano/Inia) e MS 7936 (Kavkaz/Tanori//Tito sib). Sendo recomendada para plantio no sistema de cultivo irrigado por aspersao, na estacao seca, no estado de Goias e no Distrito Federal, desde 1994. Essa cultivar destaca-se por apresentar alto potencial de rendimento de graos, altura media, ciclo precoce e resistencia ao acamamento. | ABSTRACT Yacon is a crop which requires development of strategies for its cultivation. One of the possibilities is to introduce yacon in perennial crops using intercropping system. The aim of this study was to evaluate different planting densities of yacon grown in intercropping with corn under banana orchard, verifying its development and production. At 90 days after planting, morphological and physiological evaluations were done, at 210 days yacon was harvested, and its productivity calculated using the fresh tuberous root production.
